The first part explores the surrounding landscape, heritage, and culture of the indigenous Oaxacan people, and opens a window into the artists imagination, the way they meet adversity with humor, bewilderment and resilience as they cope with Covid-19. After World War II, a brighter era of American painting than ever before occurred. Marcel Duchamp lived in America from 1915, Tanguy and Matta arrived in 1939, but the art of André Masson, Miro and, of course, Picasso also had a strong influence.
