With his background in graphic design and illustration, Masayoshi Mizuho interprets nature and traditional Japanese culture through a contemporary lens. Using acrylic paint and his eye for detail, Mizuho recreates the outward beauty of the landscapes of his country. “In today’s digital age, where efficiency is the most important thing in Japan, my way of drawing may not be highly regarded,” he explains. “But I like drawing by hand, dot by dot, and creating shapes, so I still draw this way.” Allow these keepsake notecards to be a meditative reminder to slow down and appreciate the natural world.
