1.5" x 3" Large Soft Enamel Pin Triple Posted Rubber Clasps Inspired by "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was a true Renaissance man, proficient in painting, sculpture, architecture, theory, science, and engineering. His 1498 painting "The Last Supper" exemplifies his many talents and depicts the last supper, Christ’s final meal with his disciples before he was arrested. da Vinci chose to represent a dramatic moment in the story, as Christ has just informed the group that one of them will betray him. The resulting gestures and reactions give each disciple a different temperament and expression, encouraging the viewer to spend time with the work, almost as if they are joining the meal in progress. The painting is famous for its use of linear perspective which leads the eye to Christ’s head, making him the narrative, theological, and compositional center of the painting.
