A member of the fern family, it is characterized by its fine, lace-like leaves.
Widely distributed in Japan's mountainous regions, it has a strong image of growing wild, but it can also be grown using moss balls.
It prefers a humid environment and is strong enough to grow without soil.
It also appears in old waka poems.
