Chevron Tie Earrings

The chevron pattern is inspired by local Navajo weaving patterns. Adapted from Germantown "Eyedazzler" blankets and the hourglass motif - an archetypal symbol of Navajo cosmology interpreted with an UFO pop lens. 3/4" wide, 7 1/2” drop, stainless steel findings.

Karole, Grady and their son, Henry, make up a leather studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Their work is a 'mescolanza'. A blending of Karole's Lithuanian heritage, Venezuelan upbringing, and Northern Californian education with Grady's New Mexico roots. Oropopo's collections draw deeply from scientific, historical, and environmental themes, blending function with desert literature. Every piece is a dialogue among the designer, the wearer and the collective history of the Southwest.
